a. Generally.
ofiz.com is sensitive to protecting the private
information that our Customers provide to us. The loyalty of our
Customers is very important to us and we hope this policy will
underscore our commitment to ensuring that your experience with us
is a good one. This Privacy Policy describes how ofiz.com treats
information received about you when you become a Customer or when
you otherwise provide information to us, for instance, by using our
services.
b. Your Customer Information.
As part of the registration
process for the services, you are asked to provide your name,
address, email address, telephone number(s), a PIN and (if
applicable) credit card or other billing information. This
information, together with your ofiz account telephone number, is
referred to in this Privacy Policy as "Customer Information." We
retain all Customer Information on limited access computers and,
internally, this information is only available to those employees
who have a need to know. ofiz.com will not disclose any of your
Customer Information except in accordance with this Privacy
Policy.
c. How We Use Customer Information.
ofiz.com may send Customers
periodic emails containing information about ofiz.com,
administrative notices about your account (such as notices about
pending activities), updates on new Service features, account
balance levels, Service usage tips, and Customer satisfaction
questions.
ofiz.com may also access your Customer Information for the
following administrative purposes: (a) to examine system accounting
logs, user mailboxes and other company records to resolve email and
other system errors or problems; (b) for billing purposes; (c) to
ensure that only ofiz.com customers are able to access certain
member-only services; and (d) to enforce the ofiz.com Fair Use
policies outlined in the ofiz.com Customer Agreement.
d. How We Allow Third Parties Access to Your Customer Information.
ofiz.com will not permit third parties to have
access to your Customer Information except in the following three
instances: (1) ofiz.com will provide access to certain of your
Customer Information to third party suppliers in order for them to
perform certain functions for us -- for example, credit card numbers
are sent to a credit card processing company for billing and address
information is given to a fulfillment company that sends out our
welcome kits. These suppliers are not authorized to release this
information to other third parties. (2) ofiz.com will disclose
your Customer Information in cases where, in its discretion, it
deems such disclosure required or appropriate in order to comply
with applicable laws and regulations. For example, ofiz.com may
disclose such information to law enforcement, other government
officials, or third parties in response to criminal or civil
subpoenas. (3) Notwithstanding anything else contained in this
Privacy Policy, ofiz.com reserves the right to sell or otherwise
transfer your Customer Information to one or more third parties in
connection with a sale of ofiz.com or its assets. You hereby
authorize ofiz.com to disclose or transfer your Customer Information
in the circumstances outlined above.
e. Access to the Contents of Your Communications.
As a general
rule, ofiz.com will not review or monitor the contents of faxes,
email, voice mail or other communications sent or received using the
services. This general rule is subject to the following two
exceptions: (1) Certain technical processing of, and access to
fax, email and voice mail messages and their content, may be
required to route messages, conform to connecting networks'
technical requirements, prevent or minimize disruptions to the
services, or conform to other similar requirements. (2) ofiz.com
will disclose the contents of private communications and fax numbers
in cases where, in its discretion, it deems such disclosure required
or appropriate in order to comply with applicable laws and
regulations. For example, ofiz.com may disclose such information to
law enforcement, other government officials, or third parties in
response to criminal or civil subpoenas. You hereby authorize
ofiz.com to disclose the contents of your private communications and
your fax numbers in the circumstances outlined above. In addition
to these two limited exceptions, third parties may illegally
intercept or access transmissions, private communications or fax
numbers. For this and the other reasons set forth above, ofiz.com
does not promise, and you should not expect, that private
communications or your telephone and fax numbers will always remain
private.
f. Cookies.
Like most websites, ofiz.com makes use of browser
"cookies." Cookies are files written to a user's hard disk and read
by server programs to inform a website if the user has previously
visited that site. ofiz.com uses cookies to continually enhance your
ofiz.com experience, and may use them in the future to store
customer preferences and choices. We may also use one or more
outside ad serving companies to display advertisements on the ofiz
Website. These advertisements may contain cookies, which will be
used by the ad serving company for targeting purposes only. ofiz.com
will not have access to this information. In addition, our account
management web pages use cookies to store and retrieve session
identifiers that correspond to a secure database containing each
Customer's user name and PIN. This is designed to facilitate
Customer access to ofiz.com services. These account management
cookies do not enable third parties to access any of your Customer
Information.
